MY MACHINES
1997 Camaro SS #1731
What I drive presently is a 1997 Camaro SS—#1731, to be precise. This was the car that finally crushed my life-long loyalty to Ford Motor Company. I first experienced the Fourth Generation F-Body platform through the generosity of my friend Chris Etter, who allowed me several times to drive his 1995 Z-28. The power, precision, and stability of the machine left me in awe, forcing me at last to admit that my 1990 5.0 Mustang LX couldn't hope to match it without an insane amount of modification. So it was that I began looking for a late-model V-8 Camaro or Firebird to purchase, and the fine lines and SS-specific equipment of #1731 won my heart.
